Welcome to Texas, or Tejas, was the Spanish pronunciation of a Caddo Indian word meaning "friends" or "allies."
Texas is called the "Lone Star State" because of the design of the state flag: a broad vertical blue stripe at left centered by a single white star, and at right, horizontal bars of white and red.

The weather up here is mostly sunny, a breeze is easily felt on the more flatter areas of the country, however later on during the evening the temperature drops around ten or fifteen degrees. Tornadoes happen maybe every few months, and heavy rainfall is often enough, maybe every week and a half to two weeks.

Wake Up, I'm Pounding On The [Door]

Aidan hated driving with stock trailers. It wasn't that she was bad at it. It was like she had a hidden talent in it. Still she despised it. The fact that at any point the animal in the back could freak out, sending the trailer flipping around, scared the hell out of her.

On this overly humid, Texan day, Aidan was pulling a stock trailer. A smug frown covered her face. A Gambler's Smile, her 2000 QH mare was nickering in the trailer. She didn't thrash, just made a hell of alot of noise. And with a trailer behind, there was no way Aidan would be backing up to the building. Simply taking over two parking spaces would have to be good enough.

The old black Ford's key turned, and the engine died. Stepping out of the cab, Aidan smoothed her dark blue jeans and fitted green tee. "Dezi" screamed some more, stomping around in the trailer.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." Growled Aidan, and lowered down the ramp. Dezi perked her ears and raised her head, staring at Aidan. Soon the chestnut was down the ramp, and tied to the side of the trailer.

After roughly ten minutes, the mare was groomed and ready to be tacked up. Aidan grabbed the mare's tack from the truck's cab, and placed it on the mare. Dez pranced on the spot, ready to go. The mare's antics never suprised Aidan. As much as her energy level annoyed her, Aidan couldn't help but love the mare.

Aidan was pretty much sweating by the time she was in an empty ring and warming up the mare. The humidity, and Dezi's games while being led were hard on Aidan. She should have been working on the mare's ground manners instead of riding. Oh well, she needed all around work anyway.

With a slight push from Aidan's right leg and a soft pull on the left rein, Dezi rotated her body and trotted towards the first pole on the ground.
